Cupcakes instead of loans?

As any of my friends can tell you, I love cupcakes.  But I have to say it had never occurred to me that cupcakes could help start a small business that had nothing to do with baking.  According to this Wall Street Journal article, entrepreneurs are finding creative ways to raise the money they need for their businesses since loans are still difficult for small-business owners to obtain.

From selling cupcakes to turning to friends and neighbors for investments, small-business owners seem to be using innovative ideas to find the funding they need.  Have you used any creative and different ideas to get financing for your small business?  Share your comments and experiences in the comments!
